Hudson, Ohio, Scotty "Scott Thomas (Scott Mechlowicz) is dumped his girlfriend Fiona (Kristin Kreuk), after graduating from high school. Later that evening, Scott and his best friend, Cooper Harris (Jacob Pitts) to participate in graduation party and know that Fiona is read with Donny (Matt Damon), a singer of the band in college, and are used for the performance of the song "Scotty does not know", the song information on the case. drunk and angry, Scott arrives home and receives e-mail response with Mieke (Jessica Bohrs), a German pen pal who takes the boy to think his name is pronounced "Mike".
